Duration: 60 minutes
Description
The purpose of this activity is to benchmark students' initial knowledge of South Africa and to give them a glimpse of South African history to spark student-generated questions that will guide the unit of study.
In English Language Arts:
* Introduce Central Question: Can we overcome racism?
* Students rewrite question
* Video clip: "Franklin & Tutu"
HW: Students attempt to answer CQ
This should happen at approximately the same time as the World History Introduction Activity.
