Description

Allow two weeks for students to complete their work of art, ideally happening in concurrent fine arts classes.

To keep students on track, require them to present drafts of their art work to class on a regular basis.

Author Reflections

While I was thrilled by the art that the students produced in this project's first try, this step of the project has the most room for improvement. The students were excited about their art choices, and I feel we missed an opportunity for direct instruction in art technique. When I do this project again, I want to be more strategic about collaborating with art teachers as the students create their pieces.
