Details

Duration: 90 minutes

Materials: 1 computer per group, lcd projector

Description

This is the big day!! The students will be prepped first about presentation skills and also about what a productive audience looks like. Students will be given the rubric again and asked to write their name on the top of the rubric. When each group goes up to present, they will give their rubrics to the next group, so that students will also be grading the final projects in addition to myself (and any other staff that can make it). Students will come up to the front of the room when there group presents and stand beside the screen that the imovie will be projected upon. Students will answer questions fromthe audience - as an encouragement to ask questions, students will be required to ask at least one question (total) during the presenations. Students will then present their artist statement. Assessors will be taking notes on the PSA and the presentations and grading them while this is all going on. The goal of this will be to share the PSA's and the hard work that students have done, so that students can teach other students and essentially lead the class.

REFLECTIONS & COMMENTS

Author Reflections

This final piece went well, but I would suggest prompting students the day before with possible questions that they might be asked on the day of the presentation. I believe that they knew much more than they were able to articulate about their research, but since they had been focusing so closely on the artistic side of the project for the last few classes, then that was there their focus was. I would prompt them to review their material.
