Description

The primary purpose of this activity is to engage students in literary and artistic adaptation/interpretation. This project is a vehicle for students to use decoding skills to access the language of Shakespeare as well as to be exposed to many vital literary themes.

This scene takes place just after Macbeth has had his comrade, Banquo, murdered. While hosting a banquet for his other comrades and friends, he sees the ghost of Banquo.

Learning Objectives:
o To understand literary interpretation/adaptation
o To build a schema so that students may create their own scene adaptations

Students will view 3-4 interpretations of this scene (anime, Mafia, traditional Scottish/Renaissance, modern "working class" American)
