Description

Students completed individual scripts. Each individual script was at least one page, typed,12 pt. font. Students addressed:

1. project (summary of the scene and interpretation)
2. how status is represented in their scenes through characters' actions, words
3. group's production design - what theme was chosen and why
4. other themes addressed in your scene and examples (power, manipulation, life out of balance, etc.)

Students submitted rough drafts for peer and teacher review, then edited and resubmitted final drafts.

Students met as a group to cohesively combine their scripts into one focused whole.

Students wrote scripts on notecards and practiced script delivery.

Students presented scripts and scenes in class. The evening exhibition was a film viewing only.

REFLECTIONS & COMMENTS

Author Reflections

Students did not present their scripts on the evening of exhibition. I strongly recommend that they do present, even if it means having four or five evenings of presentations. We condensed our exhibition into two film screenings due to time constraints. Students did not have the opportunity to defend or explain their interpretations, which was a significant disadvantage.
