Project Exchange

AUTHOR REFLECTIONS

Highlights:
-This was the closest to a college level product
-Groupwork oriented because of the accountability with the crew.
-This was backward planned from the ESGP original research and history/social science tasks.
-Successful collaboration between 4 subjects largely because of the
-The panel discussion afterwards challenged students. They felt most proud of this part of the exhibition.
-We used the formal presentation and the original research/history rubrics from the ESGP.

What we would change for next time:
-The connection between the research paper and the news broadcast could have been more deliberate. The news broadcasts were a lot more shallow than the research papers.
-We could have found a more authentic way of integrating Spanish for all students.
-Students could have spent more time on their own doing the research. We gave them a lot of in-class time.

This project was designed and implemented with two other teachers on the team, Anne Raeff and Regina Clarkinia.

The benchmarks for this project were modeled off of the "State of the World" project by Justin Wells, Josh Brankman, and Tony Harris.
