ACTIVITY: Industrialization Slide Show: Narrative

Materials: computers with internet access, presentation software, lcd projector, digital voice recording capability
Description
The goal of this activity is to allow students to creatively communicate the state of industrialization in a given country, and how the issue of global warming is being addressed. Students create a slide show of images supported by their voice over narration. Specific requirements are as follows:
Total slide show will have 12 - 15 images, and 1 minute of audio
1. Introduction to Country: name, map. Audio: name of country, location
2. How does global warming affect industrialization in the world today? (effects of industrialization on environment, what gov't is doing to address problems, history of industrialization)
3. Is it enough? what else should they be doing?
4. Include citations for image sources on the last slide.
Step 1: Students write a one minute narrative addressing the essential question. Narrative is edited for content and grammar through peer editing and teacher review.
Step 2: In digital media, students practice timed readings of their narrative for pacing and time.
Step 3: Students record their narratives
