Description

The Banned Books Essay is one of the culminating assessments for this unit that asks students to write a persuasive essay about their banned book that argues whether or not their book should be banned within their own school community using a convincing, historical and literary-based valid argument.

Author Reflections

This was a straight-forward activity in setting essay requirements and expectations with the students. It was important to emphasize to students that they should refer back to their quote journals and responses to literature in order to get ideas on what they wanted to write for their essays.
