This project was mostly successful, but we ran into two huge limitations: resources and time. In the first category, there were two problems. We did not have access to external mics for our cameras, and the internal mics on the cameras were definitely not good enough to get quality sound. We also ran into problems with access to our computers mid-way through the the project, and students were unable to effectively complete the last step of the project-editing. This limitation affected the final quality of the videos.

Time was also not on our side. The initial driving questions around status, power and the "truth" got lost in the final weeks when we got into video production mode. We were really racing against the clock in the last week or two and the deeper thinking around the content of the story got lost. If I were to do this project again, I would plan 5 weeks just for the video part - having already finished the reading before that. I think this window of time would allow students to make higher quality videos.
